Dr. Geisler is a world-renowned neurological and spinal surgeon from Chicago, formerly of the Back Institute at Swedish Covenant Hospital. He is recognized by his surgical peers for his clinical expertise and innovation in spinal care. As a founder of the Chicago Back Institute, he shares in its focus on patient healing, patient involvement, and use of advanced treatment technology. Dr. Geisler is a board certified neurosurgeon with over 25 years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Washington University and received his M.D. and residency training in Neurosurgery from State University of New York at Buffalo

Dr. Geisler was one of the first surgeons in the U.S. to adopt anterior cervical plating, total disc replacement, and the minimally invasive sacroiliac fusion. Dr. Geisler is also an active clinical researcher, lecturer, and author. His most recent interests include the relief of postoperative lumbar surgical pain.

Dr. Geisler is a recognized international expert in spinal procedures including internal stabilization, minimally invasive surgery, and motion preserving artificial discs. He was an early developer of spinal techniques at the Shock Trauma Center in Maryland and was a founding member of the CINN Institute for Spine Care and an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Rush Medical College, Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago. He has published numerous articles in the field of acute spinal cord injuries and has spent the last 15 years spearheading clinical trials in the areas of artificial discs and cervical plates.

Dr. Geisler founded Rhausler, Inc., a medical device company specializing in spinal implants and instrumentation in 2008 to provide new, high quality, and innovative spinal implants and instrumentation for the spine surgeon.
